An FIR has been registered against an ex-MPA of Pakistan People’s Party for hurling threats and harassing a team of Wapda officials who came to dislodge a transformer from an oil mill in Layyah, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reportedly, former PPP MPA Chaudhry Ashfaq along with his companions on Sunday attacked a Wapda team who came to remove a seasonal transformer mounted on an oil mill in Chak 138, Layyah.
The harassed Wapda staff called on police help service 15 who rescued them and retrieved their crane from the possession of ex-MPA and his henchmen.
SDO Salim got registered a case against former PPP MPA Ch Ashfaq and three other unknown persons in the Layyah police station. He said that Mr Ashfaq harassed his team and did not let them take down the transformer.
On the other hand, Mr Ashfaq said that the transformer was his property and Wapda officials tried to remove it. When his staff forbade the Wapda team from doing so, they called the police. He said the case against him was based on a lie and he didn’t intimidate any official.
