The Pakistani government has taken serious notice of an incident involving Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, where he was subjected to verbal threats and harassment in London, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Thursday.
According to the report, following directives from the government, the Pakistani High Commission has been instructed to take legal action against the individual responsible for the threatening behaviour.
The channel reported that Khawaja Asif is set to file a formal complaint with the London police regarding the incident.
Speaking about the matter, Defence Minister Asif stated that he does not know the individual involved but believes that cameras at the location will help in identifying the suspect.
Sources revealed that senior officials from the Pakistani High Commission in London met with Defence Minister Khwaja Asif, who provided them with a full account of the incident. A formal request is now being prepared by the High Commission.
Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Nawaz Sharif has also directed action against the individual responsible for the threats and abusive language.
