Meteorologists are predicting rainfall over the three days in Lahore, from November 14 to 16, which is expected to help reduce the city’s intense smog.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the severe smog and fog have greatly impacted daily life, with some flights disrupted and motorways temporarily closed.

As of now, Lahore's air quality remains critical, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 708, placing it among the world’s most polluted cities.

The channel reported that various parts of Lahore have recorded alarming AQI levels, such as 979 on Fida Hussain Road, 870 on Muratib Ali Road, 764 in Johar Town, and 704 at Ghazi Road Interchange.

Health experts have urged residents to wear masks and glasses while travelling. The city’s current temperature has dropped to 18°C, adding to the cold feel in the air. Weather experts believe that the forecasted rain will bring much-needed relief to the city’s air quality.
