The first batch of 27 Palestinian medical students Sunday left for Pakistan from Cairo to continue their medical studies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Officials of Embassy of Pakistan in Cairo and representatives of Al-Khidmat Foundation facilitated the departure of the first batch of 27 Palestinian students from Cairo International Airport to Lahore today.
These students, hailing from the war-torn Gaza strip, are part of a larger group of 192 Palestinian medical students who will be pursuing their medical and dental studies in various institutions across Pakistan.
The project is being carried out in collaboration with Global Relief Trust, Doctors of Rahman, and the Alkhidmat Foundation, reflecting a collective effort to support Palestine’s future healthcare professionals.
The students’ arrival in Pakistan will not only offer them a safe environment to pursue their education but also serve as a testament to Pakistan’s commitment to international solidarity and humanitarian aid.
This educational initiative follows the directive of Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz Sharif, who has instructed authorities to support the Palestinian students by providing them fully funded programs at Pakistan’s medical universities.
The aim is to ensure that these students can continue their education despite the ongoing conflict in Gaza, providing them with an opportunity to build a better future through professional medical training.
