Nine terrorists arrested in Punjab-wide CTD operations

Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully conducted 71 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in different areas of Punjab against terrorists and arrested nine of them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Giving details on Saturday, a CTD spokesperson said that during these operations, CTD arrested nine hardcore terrorists from Lahore, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad.
The CTD spokesman said that they arrested a terrorist from Mianwali affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij while another terrorist was arrested from Faisalabad who was affiliated with Da’esh.
During these operations, CTD teams recovered huge quantity of explosive material, two hand-grenades, 26 detonators, 74 feet protective fuse water, mobile phones, currency and bullets from these hardcore terrorists.
The arrested terrorists were identified as Abdul Karim, Usman, Imran Siddiqui, Shani, Shoukat, Ahmad Khan, Sheraz Mehmood, Saeedur Rehman and Mustajab. These terrorists wanted to destabilize law and order situation in the province.
The spokesman further said that Counter Terrorism Department conducted 978 successful combing operations in different areas of Punjab.
He said that during these combing operations, CTD personnel investigate 34692 suspicious people.
Counter Terrorism Department spokesman said that all measures will be taken for protection and safety of common man. He assured that CTD teams are enhancing monitoring of suspicious routes and activities round the clock and is ready to thwart any attempt to destabilize law and order situation in the province.
Bodies of three suspected TTP fighters found in DI Khan
Three bodies have been found from Marhaba Colony in the limits of York police station in Dera Ismail Khan on Saturday.
According to police, all the three persons have been shot dead.
Among the dead, one is from Dera Ismail Khan and two were residents of Bannu, police said.
Police said that the victims are seemed to be members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
Weapons have also been found near the dead bodies, police said.
