The Central Bank of India has seized property of Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, over the non-repayment of a substantial loan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The actor, known for his extensive work in Indian cinema, had taken a loan of Indian rupees 3 crore from the bank’s Mumbai branch, located at the Bandra Kurla Complex. The loan was secured against properties owned by his father, Naurang Yadav, in Shahjahanpur.

The debt, initially amounting to INR 3 crore, reportedly jumped to INR 11 crore due to accumulated interest and penalties after Yadav failed to make timely payments. On August 8, a team from the Central Bank's Mumbai branch arrived in Shahjahanpur and sealed the property, marking a significant escalation in the bank's efforts to recover the outstanding amount.

Rajpal Yadav, 53, hails from Shahjahanpur and has made a name for himself with over 150 film appearances across multiple languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali.

He is particularly renowned for his comic roles, with notable performances in films such as "Bhool Bhulaiyaa." Despite his success on screen, Yadav has encountered financial difficulties in the past.

This is not the first time the actor has faced legal trouble related to unpaid loans. In a previous incident, Yadav was jailed after defaulting on a loan taken to fund his directorial venture, "Ata Pata Lapata." The film, produced by his wife, Radha Yadav, failed to perform at the box office, resulting in significant financial losses for the actor.

The current seizure of his property follows a similar pattern, with the loan reportedly being taken under the banner of his production house, Shri Naurang Godavari Entertainment Limited.
