Asif Zardari awarded bail on medical grounds, remarks court

The accountability court on Saturday released the detailed judgement of former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s bail verdict saying that the bail was given taking into account latter’s medical condition, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
An accountability court in Islamabad issued the detailed judgement in Zardari’s bail application acceptance in the New York property and his fake accounts case filed by the National Accountability Bureau. According to the judgement, the case is in the investigation process and the NAB has yet to collect the evidence.
Accountability Judge Muhammad Bashir granted bail to the former president on medical grounds. The judge remarked that the PPP leader was awarded constant bail considering his health condition.
The court wrote in its judgement since the NAB inquiry in the New York property case was undergoing, the bureau could resort to the court for the cancellation of bail on solid grounds.
The court observed that the anti-graft watchdog received complaints about Zardari’s assets in 2018 and 2019 and it got the Joint Investigation Tribunal report in April 2019. Zardari was released in December 2019 after being arrested in another case, it added.
