Islamabad to get Rescue 1122 services as feasibility report submitted

Director General Rescue 1122 has submitted feasibility report to extend the emergency services to the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), reported 24NewsHD TV Saturday.
The Federal Cabinet has approved the launch of Rescue 1122 service in Islamabad on which the Punjab Emergency Services Department has started the work.
The federal government will provide Rs500 million annually to the Punjab government for the services. Director General (DG) Rescue Punjab has given an estimate of Rs500 million for the Islamabad rescue service.
DG Rescue, while talking to 24News, said that a preliminary plan has been prepared for the launch of Islamabad Rescue Service in which 10 rescue stations will be constructed in different areas of Islamabad.
A separate cost estimate will be made for the construction of the stations.
DG Rescue Rizwan Naseer said that the service will be started with the number of 20 ambulances to rescue the citizens in Islamabad while the rescue service in Islamabad will have a staff of 314 people.
According to official documents, the estimated annual expenditure of Rescue 1122 staff will be Rs19 crore. DG Rescue has stated that only ambulance service will be started in Islamabad while motorbike ambulance will not be a part of this plan.
Naseer has said the federal government will provide this fund of rescue services in Islamabad to the Punjab government and all the recommendations for rescue service in Islamabad have been submitted to the federal government.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) is already providing emergency cover to the suburbs of Islamabad Capital Territory except the main Islamabad city.
