The people of Chobara Nawankot in Layyah protested against their eviction from a land allegedly purchased by PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s sister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The people said that the administration is trying to vacate 5,100 kanals of land in Chobara Nawankot in Layyah which was bought by Imran’s sister Dr Uzma Khan.

The people of the area held a protest led by MPA Asghar Gujjar against the administration’s action to evict them.

They said that they have been owning this land for ages and now the administration wants to deprive them of their land.

“They are trying to snatch our land with the help of a local MPA. Some influential people also tried to grab our land in 2017,” the protesters said.

PML-N leader Safdar Dhol and Basharat Randhawa also took part in the protest.

On the other hand, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) said that Uzma Khan bought this land and the administration was trying to evict the illegal occupants.

MPA Qaiser Magsi rejected the allegations saying that the protesting people have illegally occupied the land.
