A consumer protection court in Karachi on Thursday admitted for hearing the application filed by a man against the owner of furniture shop for selling the bed to him which had defects, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Zulfiqar Ali had filed an application against the Koncept Furniture in the Consumer Protection Court-East, which was accepted by Judicial Magistrate-East Javed Ali Korejo.

The applicant stated that he had placed an order for the bed after seeing its picture on a website. “It had been claimed on the website that the bed was 100 percent made of wood. I purchased the bed and two night-tables from Concept Furniture. But when I returned home, I found out that the bed was not solely made of wood,” the application reads.

It further reads that the bed also had scratches on it. “And it appeared that it had remained under the use of somebody else too,” Zulfiqar says in the petition, and adds that when he conveyed to the owner of the furniture shop about defects in the bed, he demanded Rs8, 000 more from him.

The consumer prayed to the court that since the owner of the shop had dodged him, therefore, fine be imposed on him.
