LHC bars police and ACE from arresting Pervaiz Elahi in unknown cases

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday stopped the police and Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) from arresting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in unknown cases.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Lahore High Court released the reserved judgement on the petition of former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi regarding his arrest in different cases.
The Lahore High Court Judge Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq delivered the reserved judgment on the request of PTI President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and stopped the police and ACE from arresting him in any unknown case.
Earlier today, a court in Lahore also extended the interim bail of 10 co-accused of Punjab ex-chief minister Pervaiz Elahi in the case of fake recruitments in the Punjab Assembly till August 4 next.
The investigation officer demanded more time from the court as investigations into the case were yet to be completed. The court ordered to complete investigations till the next hearing.
Special Judge Anti-Corruption Ali Raza Awan conducted the hearing.
The accused including Samiullah, Waqas Sarwar, Daniyal Sattar Khan, Tahir Ahmed Makki, Muhammad Ejaz, Muhammad Haider Shafqat, Muhammad Amin, Zaibul Hassan, Mukhtar Ahmed Ranjha and Muhammad Aqif had filed pleas for interim bail to avoid arrest.
They were among those recruited in grade 17 in the Punjab Assembly.
It is to be noted that 12 candidates who failed the exam for recruitment in the Punjab Assembly were given employment in grade 17.
