CM Maryam seeks LDA report about illegal housing societies

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday directed Director-General (DG) Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to submit a comprehensive report within 15 days about all the illegal housing societies in the city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

She issued the directive while chairing a meeting in Lahore in which the participants also reviewed a proposal to put a complete ban on sale of plot files situated in any housing society.

The Chief Minister directed all relevant departments to jointly finalize a plan to fill all the cracks and the holes on the roads in Lahore.

During the meeting participants reviewed details of LDA Development and CM Initiative projects thoroughly, while the CM was briefed about Lahore Shop and Drop Tramway project.

During the briefing, the Chief Minister was informed that Lahore Shop and Drop Tramway will cover an area of 8.2 kilometers and will pass through Kalma Chowk, Main Boulvard, Hussain Chowk, M.M. Alam Road, Mini Market and other adjacent areas.

CM Maryam said that five trams will be played on the same time. The tram will stop on every station for only two minutes.

The CM was also briefed about a special road project between Karim Block to Motorway. The participants of the meeting reviewed a proposal to bulldoze Data Nagar Flyover due to its poor condition.

A road network restructuring plan was also presented during the meeting.

Prominent among those who attended the meeting include Senator Pervez Rashid, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bokhari, Vice Chairman Lahore Development Authority Mian Margoob Ahmad, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Sania Ashiq, chief secretary, principal secretary, secretary housing, Director-General Lahore Development Authority and others.
