Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Tuesday that ever since 2007, the introduction of judicial reforms had been part of the party’s manifestoes for the general elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a tweet, Bilawal said that setting up a federal constitutional court was also included in these reforms. “There is also a mention of a ‘constitutional court’ in the Charter of Democracy, which had been signed in 2006.”
He further said that those who were now opposed to the court were in fact in its favour in the past. “The opposition we are witnessing today is because of personal likes and dislikes of politicians and because of the current political situation of the country,” the PPP chairman opined.
