Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has deferred its D-Chowk protest scheduled for October 15 in view of the two-day SCO summit scheduled to begin tomorrow (Tuesday), reported 24NewsHD Tg channel Monday.
The decision was taken by the PTI’s political committee in a meeting in which majority of participants urged to withdraw the protest call for Tuesday (tomorrow) in view of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting on October 15-16.
In a video message, PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Khan said that they are putting off their protest call after government’s assurance that a team of doctors will visit PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.
He said the PTI workers were worried about the wellbeing of former premier after no one was allowed to meet him after October 3.
He said in wake of the SCO summit, the government requested them to put off their protest and has assured the visit of doctors tomorrow and upon the government assurance they are calling off their protest.
