Pakistan unveil squad for SAFF U-17 championship trophy

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially announced the national squad for the upcoming South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-17 Championship, set to take place in Bhutan later this month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The selected team will represent Pakistan in the tournament scheduled from September 20 to 30 in Thimphu, Bhutan.
The chosen squad includes a mix of promising young talent, with players like Abdul Rahman, Muhammad Husnain Saleem, Najim Khan, Sameer Ahmed, Ubaidullah Khan, Majid Ali, Syed Muhammad Abis Raza, Umar Javed, Abdul Samad, and Muhammad Faraz.
Additionally, Ferhad, Haroon Rasheed, Hikmat Ullah, Khubaib Khan, M. Shahab Ahmed, Muhammad Khan, Abdul Ghani, Subhan Kareem, Sharaf Khan, and Muhammad Talha Khan have also been entrusted to represent the nation in this prestigious tournament.
In the goalkeeping department, Adil Ali Khan, Kashif, and Ghulam Abbas have been selected to guard the post for Pakistan.
The SAFF U-17 Championship features teams from seven South Asian nations, divided into two groups.
Pakistan is placed in Group A, alongside Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka.
Pakistan’s first match is set for September 21 against Nepal, followed by a face-off with the host nation Bhutan on September 23.
The final group match will see Pakistan compete against Sri Lanka.
Group B consists of defending champions India, along with Maldives and Bangladesh.
The top two teams from each group, both the winners and runners-up, will advance to the semi-finals.
