All Pakistan Naanbais Association President Shafique Qureshi has been booked under MPO 16, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
The Rawalpindi police registered a case against Qureshi.
He has been missing since he released a video statement against the Punjab government's decision to cut roti and naan prices yesterday.
Taking to X, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz tweeted: “Alhamdulillah, the Punjab government has reduced the price of bread to Rs16 per loaf from today.
“I have directed all districts of Punjab and the departments concerned to ensure strict implementation of the decision. May Allah Almighty bring more ease in the lives of people.”

Acting upon the direction, the deputy commissioner of each district, including Lahore, immediately issued a notification.
Though citizens breathed a sigh of relief, the Naanbais association rejected it saying they had not been taken on board.
No lapses or violations pls. I am keeping a close vigil. https://t.co/nVK29I4ovz
