Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi meets UK Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hamish Falconer

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi held a meeting with the UK Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hamish Falconer to discuss matters of mutual interest and the enhancement of bilateral relations.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, during the meeting, the UK Minister extended his congratulations to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day.
The two ministers also discussed sustainable peace and stability in the region and measures to combat terrorism. Both sides emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation to achieve peace and stability.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the second phase of repatriating Afghan refugees would commence soon. He highlighted that Pakistan has been the most affected by terrorism and that its security forces have made unparalleled sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
He further stressed that terrorism is a global issue, posing challenges in various forms to many countries and that joint efforts against it would yield fruitful results.
Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to peace in the region and noted the long-standing friendly relations between Pakistan and the UK.
The UK Minister of State acknowledged Pakistan as an important member of the Commonwealth and recognised the country's sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
The meeting was also attended by Pakistani High Commissioner Dr Muhammad Faisal and senior officials from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).
