Caretaker govt cuts petrol and diesel prices

The federal caretaker government on Friday reduced the prices of petroleum products, providing much-needed relief to the people who are facing Pakistan's all-time high inflation, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 14 whereas the tariff of high-speed diesel (HSD) is slashed by Rs 13.50 per litre for the next fortnight.
The new price of petrol now is Rs267.34 down from Rs 281.34 per litre and HSD price is now fixed at Rs276.21 down from 289.71 per litre.
The adjustment in petroleum product prices is scheduled to take effect from midnight tonight, bringing a sigh of relief to the general populace.
The Prime Minister's approval for reducing fuel prices is anticipated to positively impact various sectors of the economy.
