Reports of Rapid Antigen Tests have confirmed the presence of the coronavirus in two more passengers, arriving at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport from abroad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
One of them is a 28-year-old man from Faisalabad, who reached Karachi from Jeddah while the other is a 25-year-old resident of Gulbahar, Malakand, who also arrived from Jeddah.
On the other hand, reports of the PCR tests of four passengers received by the health department today have also detected the presence of the virus in them.
So far, 17 passengers arriving at the Karachi airport have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Of them, PCR tests of 15 have shown that they are infected with the Covid-19, while of these 15 persons, two have been found infected with the GN (1) variant of the virus.
It is worth-reminding here that although the health department has issued an alert about the variant, doctors say it is not as deadly as its predecessors.
All such passengers have been intimated about their tests’ reports and directed to quarantine themselves.
Similarly, instructions have been given to all THQs, DHQs and other hospitals across Sindh.
