Popular serial drama Ehd-e-Wafa is special for several reasons. One of which is that it is a drama based on patriotism and the military.

It's been a while since we as a country watched and enjoyed a drama focused on the military.

The last episode of the serial which was earlier planned for screening in cinema houses across Pakistan but was postponed due to coronavirus fears was aired on television and took social media by storm by its ending. 

The episode was a nostalgic moment for audiences, in the sense that while they were happy to see the SSG gang achieve their goals, they were sad to see the show end.

Actor Osman Khalid Butt tweeted a dialogue from the finale uttered by his character, Malik Shahzain.

‘Friends are the family you choose. So choose wisely,’ the actor tweeted.

Wahaj Ali who portrayed the character of journalist Shariq Habib shared a picture of the whole SSG gang accompanied by a caption that read “SSG for life”.

One of the twitter users wrote: “Finally #EhdEWafa comes to an end. Amazing and wonderful play. So close to reality at some instant, it also brings tears into my eyes. This series includes almost everything from comedy to moral lessons. Thanks to ISPR for a fabulous story. #Ehd_e_wafa.”

Drama serial ‘Ehd-e-Wafa’ story revolved around college friends Shariq, Shahzain, Shehryar and Saad depicts the true value of the time-tested bond of friendship.

After the incident, they all move on with their lives, pursuing their dreams but are re-united by the love of the country and what follows is their journey of hardships, hustle and a will to sacrifice anything for their country.

Directed by Muhammad Saife Hasan, the play had a stellar cast including Ahad Raza Mir, Ahmed Ali, Vaneeza Ahmed, Osman Khalid Butt, Zara Noor Abbas, Alizay Shah, Wahaj Ali, HajraYamin and others.
