As the price of Arab Light crude has fallen by 40 percent globally, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Federal Finance Ministry to pass this relief on to the masses. He told the finance ministry to sign agreements with fuel suppliers to provide people a long-term relief.
The decrease in the fuel prices in the international market has paved the way for a cut in the prices of petroleum products up to Rs25 per litre from April.
Earlier, the government had announced a cut in the prices of petroleum products on February 29. According to the Finance Ministry, petrol price was cut by Rs5 per litre, high speed diesel price by Rs5 per litre, light diesel by Rs7 per litre and kerosene oil by Rs7 per litre.
