WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature allowing users to link their social media profiles directly to their accounts, enhancing cross-platform accessibility. Currently available to select beta testers, the update aims to streamline social media integration within the messaging app.
With this feature, users can add their social media usernames, automatically generating a clickable link at the top of the chat info page. At present, only Instagram profiles can be linked, but reports suggest WhatsApp may expand support to other platforms in future updates.
To maintain user privacy, WhatsApp is also introducing visibility controls, allowing individuals to decide whether their social media links are visible to everyone or limited to their contacts. Users who prefer to keep their social media presence private can simply opt out of adding links.
This update is designed to provide a smoother transition between different digital spaces, making it easier for users to share their profiles without switching between multiple apps.
