Mutahidda Quami Movement’s  Rana Ansar presented a resolution in the Sindh Assembly for building May 22, 2020 plane crash memorial in Malir

“For my children, every day is May 22. We can’t forget it.” Rana Ansar said.

On May 22, 2020, Pakistan International Airline flight PK-8303 crashed in Karachi minutes before landing, claiming 99 lives and leaving a trail of destruction.

Rana Ansar was waiting for her husband Syed Ansar Ali Naqvi, a seasoned journalist, at the Karachi airport when the tragedy took place a couple of days before Eidul Fitr.

Rana got emotional while presenting the resolution. She said: “Former PM Imran Khan did not say a single word of condolence.”

Seconding the resolution, Mukesh Kumar Chawla said: “This is the cantonment area. We will ask them to make a memorial. It was a tragedy. The government will support it."

Muhammad Hussain also supported the resolution, saying: “We stand by you. The entire house supports this resolution. Ninety-nine precious lives were lost in this tragedy.”

Coming down hard on the former premier, he said Imran Khan has his own character. The resolution was approved
