The first petition of the year, 2025, was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) when an increase in the prices of petroleum products (POL) announced on December 31, 2024 was challenged in the court on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Making Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and others respondents in the plea, the Judicial Activism Panel, in its miscellaneous application filed in the LHC, said that every citizen was perturbed over a hike in the POL prices. “Since there is no justification for an increase in the prices of these products, therefore, it is prayed to the court to declare it null and void,” read the petition.
