Judge of LHC Justice (r) Shakil ur Rahman Khan passes away in Islamabad

Judge of Lahore High Court (LHC) and former advocate general of Punjab Justice (rtd) Shakil ur Rahman Khan passed away in Islamabad battling cancer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
His body will be shifted to Lahore today and his funeral prayers will be offered in Garden Town.
Shakil ur Rahman Khan was diagnosed with cancer and also got medical treatment from the U.S.
Mr Khan was appointed as LHC judge on October 23, 2018.
He was the son of former Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan and Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Justice Khalil ur Rahman Khan.
Shakil ur Rahman Khan was elevated as Judge of the Lahore High Court and previously he was the 36th Advocate General Punjab, appointed by Governor of Punjab on 7 March 2016.
As Advocate General Punjab, he was also an Ex-Officio Chairman of the Punjab Bar Council (PBC).
He had already been served in this office (2009-2012) as Additional Advocate General Punjab and resigned from the post to continue his law practice as Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP).
Pertinent to note that his father had not taken oath under PCO from the then President Musharaf. His younger brother is doctor, Dr. Farid ur Rehman Khan.
Hailing from Lahore, born on February 15th, 1969, after graduation he completed his law degree LL.B. from University Law College, Punjab University, Lahore.
