Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has refused to accept the defeat by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan in the by-election.

According to the 24 NewsHD TV channel, Bilour contested the NA-31 by-polls against Imran Khan. Former prime minister Imran Khan secured 82,457 votes while Ghulam Ahmad Bilour 32,253.

The ANP leader cried foul and announced he would approach the court and election tribunal. He said whatever happened is a ‘conspiracy’. He said he has trust in his allies and the people of his constituency.

Imran Khan has contested seven NA seats that fell vacant after the acceptance of the resignations of PTI members by the National Assembly speaker.

Unofficial results have shown former prime minister Imran Khan secured six seats. He lost one seat in Karachi where the Pakistan People’s Party candidate, Hakeem Baloch, clinched victory.
