Special parliamentary committee on constitutional package meets tomorrow

Special Parliamentary Committee, comprising members of all political parties including PTI, on constitutional amendments has convened its emergency meeting on Wednesday at 12:30pm, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Special Parliamentary Committee is expected to discusses the proposed drafts of the government, PPP, JUI-ZF and PTI on constitutional reforms especially the creation of constitutional court in the country.


Meanwhile, PTI chief Barrister Gohar has said that PTI will not attend the meeting due to its schedule issue however, he made it clear that PTI has not announced boycott of the meeting.


Barrister Gohar said the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf will not attend the meeting due to its unavailability in Islamabad. An emergency meeting of the Special Parliamentary Committee will be held at 12:30 earlier, the meeting was to be held on Thursday at 3pm. Meanwhile, after the end of SCO summit in Islamabad, three major political parties are expected to meet to finalize the draft of the amendments. The meeting of PML-N-, PPP and JUI-F is likely to finalize the draft and after the meeting, the date of joint session of the National Assembly and Senate will be convened to approve the proposed legislation.
