6,264 Covid-19 tests conducted in last 24 hours

Pakistani authorities have conducted 6,264 tests during the last 24 hours as the country tackles the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the updated figures on Friday morning, total active Covid-19 cases in Pakistan has reached 5,125 with the addition of 497 during the last 24 hours, while the total 7,025 cases have so far been detected throughout the country. (AJK 46, Balochistan 303, Gilgit Baltistan 245, Islamabad Capital Territory 154, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 993, Punjab 3,276 and Sindh 2,008).

As many as 1,765 patients have recovered fully while the death toll has risen to 135 including 11 in the last 24 hours. Sindh has recorded 45 deaths, Punjab 36, KP 45, ICT 1, Balochistan 5, GB 3.

About 44 patients are critical as the authorities have so far conducted 84,704 tests including 6,264 during the last 24 hours.

The local transmission of the Covid-19 is 59 percent and foreign travel 41 percent.

About 588 hospitals with Covid facilities are handling the situation with 1,361 patients admitted across the country. 546 quarantine facilities with 21,047 people housed in them are in action.
