Alerting all Punjab deputy commissioners (DCs) about a long march by now-defunct Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), the Home Department on Saturday directed them to take steps to stop the banned outfit from going ahead with its plan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the alert, the DCs have been ordered to ensure workers of the outfit do not gather at one place.
It has also directed them to prepare a list of active TLP members and submit it to the Home Department as well as the police department.
The federal cabinet, had on Thursday (April 15), approved a summary from the interior ministry, seeking a ban on the Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) under the anti-terrorism law.
The sources said the approval from the federal cabinet has been gotten through a circulation summary.
Sources said the cabinet has started work issuing the declaration of the TLP's ban after the summary was approved. The government will also present the declaration of the ban in the Supreme Court.
As a result of the ban, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will subsequently denotify the TLP on orders of the apex court and all parliamentarians of the TLP will be automatically disqualified after the ECP denotifies the party.
