KP private schools continue defying govt ban

Many private schools reopened in different areas of KP on Monday despite strict ban orders from the KP government.
On Saturday, the government reacted quickly when private schools reopened in the province sealed as many as 25 private schools and arrested a principal in Swat.
But after Sunday’s weekly holiday, the private school owners yet again defied the government’s orders in Swat and reopened the schools.
In Swat, many schools were reopened and the Private Schools Management Association also arranged protests against the ban on the reopening of the schools and arrests of teachers in front of students.
The association said it won’t further compromise on the education of the children and educational activities will continue at all cost.
President PSMA Swat Ahmad Shah also urged parents to join the protest for the future of their children. He demanded of the government to allow the reopening of schools under the SOPs.
In Shangla, hundreds of parents, teachers and students took part in a rally for the reopening of educational institutes also closed the roads to register their protest.
In Mardan, private school owners and teachers also took to the streets against the ban on reopening of schools and condemned the arrests of the teachers. They also vowed to continue the protests till the reopening of the schools.
In Bannu, the district administration has sealed a private school for defying the ban and issued notice to the school owner.
