Ertugrul’s Esra Bilgic aka Halime Sultan shares concern over women’s future in Afghanistan

The lead actress of the famous Turkish drama serial Dirilis: Ertugrul, Esra Bilgic shares her concern over women’s future in Afghanistan in a recent Instagram story.

She turned to social media platform Instagram and shared a photo of two women walking on the street while wearing the burqa, taken by world-renowned photographer Steve McCurry to share her concern.

The actress wrote in the Turkish language, “Last year, on September 20, I learned and wrote that the mother’s name will now appear on the child’s identity card in Afghanistan.”

She further added, “It hasn't even been a year. Today, women have lost their freedom in Afghanistan. We must continue our struggle for all women of the world.”

Taliban effectively sealed their control of Afghanistan on Sunday, pouring into the country’s capital Kabul. They met little resistance as President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.
