Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said Wednesday while addressing a ceremony that the government had restored the risk allowance for the Rescue 1122 officials that had earlier been withdrawn, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During his address, he commended the efforts of the Punjab chief secretary and the inspector general of police (IGP).
The Punjab chief minister also threw light on the stringent measures that had been taken for the launch of Rescue 1122.
He stated that help from the United States and the European Union was sought for establishing an institution like Rescue 1122.
He claimed that the Rescue 1122 was one of the best emergency services in the world, adding that it had no parallel in the world.
The Punjab chief minister said that he had also ordered the provision of free medicines at emergency wards— that had earlier been stopped by the previous governments—of public hospitals again.
He added that a threefold rise had been ensured in the allowance of doctors, who performed six-hour duty at the emergency wards of public hospitals.
He also said to the Rescue 1122 officials that prayers of thousands of men, women and children were with them, urging them to perform their duty with a missionary zeal.
At the end of his address, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi prayed for the progress and advancement of Rescue 1122 and its sister organisations in the country.
