Punjab CM Maryam directs depts to remain alert on flood in rivers

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the concerned departments to remain alert in view of the floods in the rivers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also ordered advance security measures in the areas of Mount Sulaiman in Dera Ghazi Khan.
In view of the threat of flood situation, the CM ordered to strictly implement the SOPs of advance measures.
The Chief Minister directed for assistance to residents of low-lying areas inundated in various districts.
She instructed for continuous monitoring of flood drains in Narowal, Sialkot, Shakargarh and other cities.
Maryam Nawaz directed that in view of the fear of flooding, the residents of the affected areas should be shifted to relief camps in time.
Livestock in the villages should also be moved to a safe place before the flood, Maryam Nawaz further directed.
She ordered that availability of snake bite vaccine should be ensured in relief camps.
Immediate restoration of traffic should be ensured in the areas affected by landslides, Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed.
The Chief Minister instructed deputy commissioners should monitor the rescue and relief activities in the districts.
