Human rights activist Perween Rehman’s killers sentenced after 8 years

Anti-Terrorism Court on Friday gave ruling in the social society organizations’ figure Perween Rehman Murder Case after eight years long proceeding in Karachi.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the court sentenced the four accused to double life imprisonment for each.
The Karachi police have already arrested accused Ayaz Shamzai, Rehman Swati, Pappu Kashmiri, Amjad Afridi and Imran Swati in the Perween’s murder case.

Perween Rehman was shot dead by some gunmen on March 13, 2013, on his way home from the office near Orangi Town, Karachi.
As director of the Orangi Pilot Project, Perween dedicated her life in the safeguard of rights of the poor in the country, so that they have land and basic life amenities.
Reportedly, she is said to be targeted by a nexus land mafia connected with politicians and militants.
In 2016, the Karachi administration named a road of the city after slain human rights activist Perween Rehman to admire her social work.
