Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) Tuesday hosted an insightful pre-conference workshop on 4D ultrasound technology as part of its Annual Scientific Conference, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Organized by the Department of Radiology, the event took place under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal and was graced by Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique as the chief guest.

Prominent attendees included Parliamentary Secretary Health Punjab Ms. Rushda Lodhi, Principal Prof Abdul Hameed, Dean Prof Aisha Malik, Prof Bilquis Shabbir, and Medical Superintendent of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Dr. Arif Iftikhar, along with esteemed faculty members.

The Head of the Radiology Department, Prof. Dr. Mah Jabeen Masood, warmly welcomed the guests and presented bouquets to Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, VC  Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, and Parliamentary Secretary Ms. Rushda Lodhi.

The workshop featured leading facilitators, including Associate Professor Dr. Saman Chaudhary, Assistant Professors Dr. Warda Ashraf and Dr. Kiran Sarfraz, and Senior Registrar Dr. Mehwish Nizam. They delivered hands-on training and insightful presentations on the applications and benefits of 4D ultrasound technology in modern medicine.

In his address, Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique congratulated the Radiology Department for organizing the workshop and underscored the importance of such initiatives in enhancing medical education and improving healthcare services. He reiterated the government’s commitment to equipping healthcare facilities with modern technologies and emphasized the significance of continuous learning for medical professionals.

VC Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine, including its applications in telemedicine and diagnostic advancements like 4D ultrasound. He commended the Radiology Department for its proactive efforts in organizing the workshop and fostering innovation in medical education.

The workshop’s key highlight was an in-depth presentation by Dr. Kiran Sarfraz on the integration of AI with 4D ultrasound technology, showcasing its potential to revolutionize patient care.
