Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan has written a letter to the prosecutor general to delete terrorism-related clauses from the ‘protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) case’ registered against him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

In the letter, Imran states that keeping in view what unfolded on the day when demonstrations were held outside the ECP’s building, the insertion of terrorism-related clauses in the case is ridiculous. “So, therefore, these clauses be removed from the case,” he has requested.

He has further written that these clauses are an insult to the verdict given by the seven-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC). “Furthermore, such clauses are used for the political victimization of political opponents, and to stifle dissent,” he writes.

In the letter Imran opines that insertion of such clauses also speaks for the government’s seriousness in combating terrorism.
