Members of the Islamabad lawyers’ fraternity who threatened and verbally abused Station House Officer (SHO) Margalla over the issue of demolition of their chambers at Islamabad District Courts tendered an apology now, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The lawyers said there was no disagreement or confrontation with the police and there was a disagreement only with the district administration over the demolition of the chambers. “We want to resolve the issue with the district administration of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) amicably,” the lawyers said.

The lawyers said they have admitted their mistake and forwarded an apology to the capital police, the TV channel reported.

It is pertinent to note that in the video footage that went viral on the internet Saturday night, lawyers using abusive language in front of SHO Margalla and threatened to ‘set ablaze’ the police station in case the operation continued regarding demolition of the chambers.

In the video, it can be seen that the SHO kept smiling on the harsh words used by the lawyers. However, the issue is resolved now and the lawyers vowed to settle the issue with the district administration amicably.
