FBR and PRA extend tax return submission deadlines

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) have extended the deadlines for submitting tax returns to accommodate taxpayers, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
According to the report, due to the Eid-ul-Adha holidays, the FBR has extended the submission date for sales tax and federal excise duty returns to June 24.
The FBR has sent a letter to the chief commissioners of all relevant tax offices to inform them of this extension.
Similarly, the PRA has extended the return submission deadline for registered persons, including woodholding agents, to June 20.
As per the circular of the PRA, this extension applies to all registered persons except those in telecommunication services. The facilitation is provided under the Punjab Sales Tax Act 2012, the Sales Tax Act 1990, and the Federal Excise Act 2005.
