KP quits BISP on adding non-deserving people to aid list

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Tuesday decided to withdraw from Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) with the reservations of adding some non-deserving people to the aid list again.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, KP Finance Minister Taimur Jhagra has written a letter to Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail and informed him about the provincial decision.
In the letter, Jhagra said that the non-deserving people who were expelled from the programme by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government are being reinstated.
Barrister Safe has said that the KP government will now use such an amount fixed for deserving people under the Ehsaas Kafalat Program and the Insaf Card Program.
He confirmed that the decision to withdraw from the BISP has been approved by the cabinet meeting.
In a letter from Finance Minister Taimur Jhagra, Barrister Saif said the KP government has also asked the federal government to account for the money spent on the Ehsaas program.
Barrister Saif said also said that in the letter it has been demanded by the federal government that the remaining money should be returned to the provincial government of KP.
