Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has said he was not a public office holder 10 years ago when his wife purchased property in Dubai, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference, Naqvi said making assets through legal means was not wrong.
He said all the details of his properties were mentioned in tax returns. “Everything is clear in the Election Commission reports,” he added.
“All my assets are declared. I came with a vision.”
He said a baseless propaganda campaign was launched against him and his family.
He said investing in other countries was not illegal. Naqvi said he earned all his money with hard work.
The minister said: “My wife has inherited property in the UK. My wife has had the property since 2017. If any property is illegal, it should be inquired.
“As a businessman, I will invest wherever I want.
“I have to focus on my work. If someone has done something illegal, there must be an inquiry.”
“I have no idea if Mir Shakeelur Rehman has assets in Dubai.”
Regarding KP CM Gandapur, the minister said KP CM was a wise man who would never occupy land.
Talking about the AJK issue, Naqvi said the people of Azad Kashmir were happy with the package Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced.
Citing the 18th amendment, he said: “Law and order is the responsibility of the provincial governments.”
He said during peaceful protests in AJK, many miscreants wanted to create a law and order situation in the valley and they wanted to set buildings and public properties on fire.
About the electricity overbilling, he said people were being sent so many bills that it was difficult for them to pay.
Issues related to the passport will be resolved soon, he said.
Sindh and Punjab are working together on the Kachaa cleanup operation, the minister maintained, adding that the centre will provide whatever is required regarding the operation.
