The Lahore High Court (LHC) upheld the objection raised by its Registrar's Office to a plea for a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan in jail.
Justice Muhammad Tariq Nadeem took up the matter on the petition of Noreen Niazi, another sister of the PTI founder.
Due to the SCO summit in the federal capital, all the courts remain closed from October 14 to October 16, the petitioner told the court, arguing that the Lahore High Court has the jurisdiction to admit the plea.
Aleema and Uzma were sent to jail on judicial remand on October 12, the petitioner’s lawyer said, adding that the family members are not being allowed to meet them per rules.
However, the judge upheld the objection as inadmissibility of the plea, stating the the plea cannot be filed on the principal seat.
The petitioner should approach the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench, stated the Registrar's Office in the objection.
