A delegation of the Pakistan People's Party led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif
The PPP delegates were Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Naveed Qamar and Murtaza Wahab.
Speaking on the occasion, the premier said recent improvements in economic indicators are very welcome.
Last month, the inflation rate reached single digit for the first time in many years, he said, adding that the State Bank has reduced the policy rate by 2%, which has further increased the confidence of investors in the Pakistani economy.
The cut in the price of petroleum products speaks about the government's efforts to bring relief to the people, he said.
Amendment of the Constitution and legislation is the authority of the parliament, the premier said, adding that the people of Pakistan gave the parliament the mandate to legislate.
During the meeting, the proposed constitutional amendment came under discussion. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other senior leaders of PPP will play a due role in the discussions with other political parties.
Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar were also present.
