In a tragic incident caused by the negligence of the Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO), an innocent child lost his life when 11,000-volt electric cable fell on him in the village of Ramzan Mirbehr in Khairpur district of Sindh.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, boy named Shiraz Ahmed died on the spot after totally burnt due to the heavy electric current from the 11,000-volt wire.
The villagers protested against SEPCO for negligence and said that faulty electric wires have been hanging over Ramzan Mirbehr village for the past 20 years. This is not the first incident of its kind; previously, another child had lost his life due to falling of wires, they said.
There have been multiple instances where both villagers and animals have been electrocuted due to these faulty wires, they added.
