Gandapur gives 15 days to clear KP arears

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has given 15 days to the Centre for clearance of the province’s Rs50 billion dues otherwise KP will take over the control of Wapda , reported 24nwsHD TV channel.
Ali Amin Gandapur while chairing meetings related to the preparation of the next fiscal year's development program, ironically recalled Azad Kashmir protests and asked what would be the condition of the centre if the if the KP governments brought the people to the streets.
Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government finalized the draft of the annual development program for the financial year 2024-25 after four years of continuous negotiations.
During these meetings, all the ongoing and future development projects were reviewed and discussed in detail. And CM Gandapur gave key decisions regarding the welfare of the people of the province.
After finalizing the draft, CM Gandapur said that the new annual development program will be based on wider public interest rather than any political expediency. He said the development program will include feasible projects which will be completed within the stipulated time frame.
He claimed the annual development program will include realistic plans for public welfare instead of mere paperwork and all of ongoing development projects will be completed in the first priority.
KP CM said focus of the govt will be on improving the delivery of public services in remote areas including the newly merged districts.
He said special attention will be given to green energy initiatives to tackle the current energy crisis.
The Chief Minister said steps will be taken to shift all government offices and educational institutions to solar energy.
Gandapur said a new road map will be given to utilize the opportunities of hydropower generation for gaining energy self-sufficiency in the province.
The Chief Minister said along with hydropower generation, the province will work on its own transmission, grid and tariff system.
He said steps will be taken to promote industries to generate employment opportunities for the to people of the province.
The Chief Minister said in order to attract industrialists to the province, the province's own electricity production will be provided to the industries at affordable rates.
He said govt will take steps to promote ease of doing business policy for the investment in the province.
Gandapur pledged that law and order, health, education and food security were the top priority sectors of the government.
He said police force will be equipped with modern weapons to deal with the law and order situation.
The Chief Minister said steps will be taken to ensure the safety of police personnel. The construction of small and large dams will be started for self-sufficiency in agricultural products besides the efficient use of water resources.
Gandapur claimed that agricultural research and modern farming will be promoted to increase production per acre.
Steps will be taken to attract the youth towards self-employment and make them stand on their own feet, claimed Gandapur.
He said for the promotion of good governance and transparency, special attention will be given to the promotion of information and communication technology in all government affairs.
Moreover, Asset Management System will be introduced for better management of government properties to increase the revenue of the province.
Gandapur said Mineral Development and Management Authority will be established in the province to make full use of the precious mineral resources of the province.
To deal with the effects of climate change, govt will focus on increase in the forest area in the province, said the Chief Minister, adding that scientific management system will be introduced to ensure the conservation of forests.
Gandapur said rapidly increasing population is the most important problem, short-term and long-term plans will be formulated to balance population and resources.
KP CM said the provision cheap and speedy justice to the people was the top priority of the provincial government. And in this respect, the judicial system will be strengthened.
He said the number of judges will be increased in the lower level courts so that cases which have been pending for years, should be resolved on urgent basis.
Gandapur at the end of his speech said that KP govt will take steps to promote tourism, cultural and sports activities in the province.
