Lodhran police in dark as Infant murdered by drowning in water tank

A six-month-old baby was killed after he was thrown in a water tank in a suburban village of Lodhran, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Police said they had recovered the infant’s body from the tank two hours after he was thrown into it and registered a case against his mother under murder-related sections.

The police further said that nobody involved in the little one’s murder would be spared.

Giving further details, the Force said that Muhammad Riaz and his wife, the baby’s parents, had an argument with each other following which the mother left for her parents’ home, leaving the child behind.

At first, it was said that the infant had gone missing after which his body was recovered, they informed.

Later Riaz too went to work, asking his sister to look after the infant till he returned, DSP Abdur Rauf said, adding the incident was being investigated from different angles, and even the baby’s aunt was on the police’s radar.
