ANF seizes 12kg heroin from container booked for Maldives

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 12kg of heroin from a container booked for the Maldives at Pakistan International Container Terminal, Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to the ANF sources, the heroin was being smuggled to the Maldives in salt packets. A man from Karachi was arrested during the operation.
Separately, the ANF foiled a bid to smuggle drugs into Sukkur from Quetta. 450kg of hashish was recovered from two vehicles near the Yaro area of Quetta.
The hashish was concealed in the doors, bumpers, backseat and floor of the vehicles. Three accused, residents of Quetta, were arrested during the operation.
Also, as many as 84 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from the stomach of a Dubai-bound passenger at Bacha Khan International Airport. The accused, a resident of Waziristan, was arrested.
And, 3.6kg of hashish was recovered from a man travelling in a bus in Dera Ghazi Khan. The accused, a resident of Ziarat, was smuggling drugs into Punjab from Quetta.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations have been launched, the ANF spokesperson said.
