The National Assembly on Friday suspended the membership of two lawmakers belonging to the Opposition for the remaining of the current session over the use of uncivilized language, causing ruckus and hurling threats during President Asif Zardari’s address to the joint session of the Parliament, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the proceedings on Friday, membership of Jamshed Dasti and Muhammad Iqbal Khan was suspended with Federal Minister Ataullah Tarar saying the Opposition has anchoring wrong traditions in the House.

The membership of the both the legislators suspended under clauses 21 and 33 of Parliament (Joint Sitting) Rules 1973.

During president’s speech to the joint sitting of the parliament on Thursday afternoon, both Jamshed Dasti and Iqbal Khan staged noisy protest and used threatening language near the speaker’s dais. They also blew whistles and chanted objectionable slogans violating sanctity of the house with their unpleasant behavior.

They also violated rule 30 of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business. They ignored the speaker’s authority by violating the rules and deliberately disrupted the joint session’s proceedings.
