A special committee Wednesday was set up to dig into the police' failure and fix responsibility on the cops for sheer negligence over the vicious act at Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day.

According to a notification, Punjab Safe Cities Authority MD Sardar Ali Khan will head the three-member body to hold responsible the lawmen for showing sheer negligence.

The probe TORs are what was "security deployment at the Greater Iqbal Park in view of the large gathering for Independence Day celebrations, the nature and quality of police response when the incident was happening and the cause of or the justification for the delay in registration of the FIR".

On Saturday, a TikToker came under a brutal attack by mobsters when she was out to celebrate Independence Day. On Tuesday, the Lorry Adda police registered a case after the video of the vicious act went viral. Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice and issued directives to bring to book the culprits.
