Pakistan Customs personnel foiled a bid to smuggle cash and cellphones from Pakistan to Afghanistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Collector Customs Amjadur Rehman told media that the customs personnel deployed at Pak-Afghan border crossing at Torkham signaled a cargo vehicle heading from Pakistan to Afghanistan to stop.
“When they searched the vehicle, they found 100,000 Saudi Riyals and 45 cellphones concealed in its secret portions,” he said, adding, “The driver has also been taken into custody and an investigation is underway.”
