In an important message concerning the much-talked-about civil disobedience movement, former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan on Thursday said that he had demanded two things from the government; the release of PTI’s all under-trial prisoners and the constitution of a judicial commission to probe the May 9 and May 27 incidents, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a tweet made from the former prime minister’s official Twitter account, he said these were fair demands. “And if the government does not meet them by Sunday, then an appeal would be made to overseas Pakistanis to stop sending remittances in the first phase of the civil disobedience movement. “We will appeal to the Pakistanis living abroad that given that the freedom of expression has been snatched from the people in the country; media has been gagged and the judiciary has been made a subordinate as well, therefore, they should stop sending remittances,” read the tweet.

Imran extols the PTI leaders and workers, saying they showed extraordinary bravery on February 8; the day general elections were held in the country and on November 27 when they faced the state’s tyranny courageously. “The gallantry they showed on these two days is matchless; it is unprecedented,” said the PTI founder.

He accused the government of firing at the PTI protestors on November 26, calling it a ‘black day’ in the country’s history. “Several people were killed and injured while many have been missing for the last three weeks,” he alleged.

On the other hand, snow has started to melt as far as negotiations between the government and the PTI are concerned as the latter has now started working on the terms of reference (TORs) following receiving a green light from the National Assembly (NA) speaker’s office in this regard.

Sources told 24News TV channel that the party would like to discuss with the government the release of its detainees, including that of Imran Khan, and the withdrawal of cases registered against them.

Once drafted, they informed, these TORs would be sent to the speaker’s office.

The speaker would then convey these to the government in writing, sources elaborated.

They went on to say that after that, the government would form a committee.

They informed that there were greater chances of the constitution of a committee by the government by Sunday.

They also informed that the PTI’s negotiating team would visit the Adiala Jail for the approval of these TORs and to receive further instructions from Imran Khan.
